INPRISLAMED

In writing about Islam in American prison, concepts, especially in such a relatively new field, can get lost in translation.

Much like William Shakespeare, who created more then 1,700 words, I too have taken that liberty upon myself.

So here is what my contribution to the 2009 Merriam-Webster dictionary would be if I had been asked:

The process by which African American males become
more vulnerable to radical Islamic philosophy through
their exposure to the American penal system
